Personal Information

Annabelle Chapman covers Poland for The Economist and Monocle magazine. Previously based in Ukraine, her articles from Central and Eastern Europe have also been published in Politico Europe, Foreign Affairs, the Financial Times and the New Statesman, among others. She is a winner of the Spectator’s Timothy Garton Ash Prize for European writing. She holds a PhD on Poland and a Masters in Russian and Eastern European Studies, both from the University of Oxford.
